Gavyn from Pennsylvania

Gavyn is a people person! He loves being around people and interacting with them. He brings much joy to those around him, often smiling and laughing. Gavyn thoroughly enjoys participating in activities, including arts and crafts, dancing, and celebrating holidays. He just loves his birthday! Gavyn has recently been able to indicate that he would like to live in a home and enjoyed watching the video of "Big Bird's (Sesame Street) Moving Day" on YouTube. He is a big fan of the famous children's television shows "Sesame Street" and "Teletubbies." He is often seen carrying one of the little characters from the series and is quite proud of his toy collection. He also loves stuffed animals. Gavyn also loves visiting Sesame Place. He enjoys taking walks to see the horses and animals in the barn at his placement and going on just about any recreation trip. He enjoys cuddling up on a tent swing or under his bedroom covers. He enjoys using his iPad, and his interests continue to expand. He is learning sign language, and he often uses a sign language word to express his wants and needs, share a preference, or reach for an item. He can express himself verbally with people he is comfortable with but can be shy in using his words. At school, he uses an iPad with a communication app to confirm words he is trying to say, sign, or share. He has great staff support at school. He eats well and enjoys a variety of foods. Gavyn is connected to members of his birth family and needs a family who is willing to support and maintain these bonds. Parental rights have not been terminated for Gavyn; however, once a permanent resource is identified the county will enact final steps to terminate parental rights.
