My Favorite Things: I like a lot of sports. I enjoy playing football, baseball, and wrestling. I love reading books about animals. I like collecting Pokémon cards and playing games with others. Snowboarding is one of my favorite winter activities. Being outdoors is a big part of who I am. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outside as possible. I also like working out and staying active. Things I do not like: I struggle with yelling and loud households. I feel more comfortable in calm environments. I also do not like being around younger kids. It’s important to me not to be around people who use drugs or drink alcohol. I want to be in a safe and healthy environment. And I really do not like string beans! Favorite Foods: I am trying to eat healthier and take care of my body. I like vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots. I really enjoy game meat such as venison and wild turkey. I also like crab meat. I’m willing to try new foods to see if I like them. What I want in a family: I want a family that will spend time doing activities with me and provide structure and routine. I need a family that will support me in the things I want to do. I would like to try cooking more and making healthy meals. I enjoy hunting and fishing, and being outdoors, and I want a family who enjoys doing those kinds of activities too. What I want families to know about me: I am strong and can be funny. Right now, I am really focusing on my diet and exercise, and I am working on my coping strategies. I would like to try being in the Boy Scouts. I want to be around supportive people and do fun activities outdoors with my family. That we want families to know about the youth: Adam is resilient, thoughtful, and continues to grow into his strengths. Over the past few years, he has worked hard on building coping skills, emotional regulation, and healthier ways of expressing himself. During that time, he has shown perseverance and a willingness to engage with supportive adults who demonstrate consistency. Adam is genuinely trying to improve his health and well-being, which is very important to him. He wants a family that will support him. He enjoys typical teenage interests and benefits from structure, predictability, and clear expectations. When he feels safe and understood, his sense of humor and personality shines, and he is capable of forming meaningful connections and responding well to adults who are patient, calm and genuine. Adam does not respond well to caregivers who yell, raise their voice, or frequently argue. If he needs discipline, caregivers should be mindful and communicate clearly with him so he knows what to expect and is not taken by surprise. He would thrive in a home that offers consistency, routine, and clear boundaries, with caregivers who are trauma-informed, patient, and able to remain calm and steady during challenging moments. Ongoing support services will help him continue building on the progress he has made. Adam benefits from opportunities to explore interests, hobbies, and age -appropriate independence. He will need time to rebuild trust, but with commitment and understanding, he has the capacity to form lasting attachments. An adoptive family that offers unconditional support, structure, and encouragement will help him continue moving forward with confidence. With the right family, Adam has the potential to grow into a successful, connected, and thriving young adult. Contact Information: PFHeartgallery@lundvt.org
