Emmaleigh from Vermont

My favorite things: Emmaleigh is a big fan of country music, especially Hardy. When it comes to films and literature, horror is her favorite genre. She greatly enjoys reading and she is an aspiring writer. Emmaleigh is athletic and when she is not getting dressed up for special outings, she likes to get on the field to play flag football or hit the gym. Things I do not like: Although Emmaleigh appreciates her independence, she prefers not to be left alone for a long time. She enjoys being around others but does not want to be the center of atention. Emmaleigh is an excellent communicator although does find it challenging when she is trying to communicate with an inflexible person. Favorite Foods: Emmaleigh is an enthusiast for homemade mac and cheese. She also likes to have the opportunity to indulge in McDonalds from time to time. What I want in a family: It is important to Emmaleigh to be accepted for who she is as a person. Emmaleigh has identified the importance of joining a family with one or two parents who are open- minded, flexible, easy to talk with, and non-judgmental. She hopes to get her driver’s license and would like to continue playing sports, and she wants a family who will support her in achieving her goals. What I want families to know about me: Emmaleigh is a hard worker and has goals to go to college, work a part time job, and drive. She wants to stop moving and experience more typical teenage opportunities like making friends and going to prom. Emmaleigh says she is open to moving away but ideally would like to stay in or near Vermont. Emmaleigh does have relationships within her family of origin she would like to maintain. What we want families to know about the youth: As a 16-year-old, Emmaleigh has had numerous life experiences that have greatly shaped who she is, and her resilience stands out as one of her essential attributes. Emmaleigh is smart and is actively working to learn new skills so she can achieve her goals. She wants to do well in life and be supported by a family who will love her for who she is and support her in becoming a successful adult.
